To celebrate the 250 th anniversary of the birth of the poet and mystic Ann Griffiths, we’re inviting you to join us on Enlli, destination of pilgrims and isle of resurrection, for a creative Easter retreat. This week is intended for anyone who likes exploring wild places, playing with words, making music, taking photographs or painting pictures. You don’t have to be an expert – just someone for whom creative expression is a helpful way to explore and express your thoughts.

Inspired by Ann’s poetry, we will introduce a creative impulse each morning and there will be plenty of free time to discover the unique atmosphere, landscape, bird and animal life of the island and respond in words or images. In the evenings we’ll help prepare a shared meal and sit down together to enjoy good food and conversation.

There will also be an opportunity for those who would like to do so to join in a daily pattern of Celtic prayer and silent meditation led by the island Chaplain.

We’ll be staying at the Bird Observatory:
“The hostel-style accommodation offered at the Lodge is comfortable but basic; being an island there is a very limited water supply and facilities are shared. That said, there is 24-hour solar power, internet, central heating and hot running water, and of course there is always the opportunity to watch any bird ringing we are doing during your stay! There are comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, large dining room, cosy common room and library and a pleasant terrace with picnic tables and a spectacular view!” bbfo.org.uk

Cost: £580 to include boat fare, accommodation and food. If you would love to join us but can’t afford the full fee, please let us know as there may be some bursaries available.

Please note: the boat trip to the island takes around half an hour and is weather dependent. If weather conditions are poor, we may not be able to cross to the island at all, so it is important that you organise your own holiday insurance when you book.
